Q2 2010-Net income charged by case Garriott

Like its counterparts, NCsoft has released its financial results for second quarter 2010 (ended late last June) and reveals the numbers relatively stable, but obviously encumbered by the loss of the trial the opponent Richard Garriott.

According to the group's accounts, NCsoft reports a second quarter 2010 revenues equivalent to the beginning of the year (+0.1%), which had 167.57 billion won (110.3 million euros) . The group still sees its net profit decline by 48% in a few months (from 58 billion won in the first quarter of 2010 to 30.4 billion won - or 20 million - in the second quarter of that year). NCsoft says that a decline in the millions of dollars in damages paid to Richard Garriott, who sued the Korean group including unfair dismissal.
Disregarding exceptional events, NCsoft claims an operating profit of 70.7 billion won (46.5 milliosn euros), down "only" 8% from the previous quarter and up 49% the same period last year.

By examining the detailed figures, we note also that South Korea remains the dominant market NCsoft (who makes 64% of its activities) and the MMORPG Aion is still leading the group (representing 40% of its sales for more than 41 million euros of turnover), although the first lineage is still recording an activity record (MMORPG launched in 1998 has garnered 33.7 million alone during the second quarter of 2010) .
