There are four cardinal elements: Earth, Water, Wind and Fire in Aion Online, from which spiritmasters work on bringing fierce creatures under control. Spiritmasters are able to summon these elemental spirits and use them for their good. However at a time they can only summon one elemental and the element works in the way: their versatility is depending on the type of spirit spiritmasters summon in specific situations. The four of them have difference between each other, each of which has its own strongpoint, weaknesses, unique skills and abilities. Earth elementals is used to make up of melee combat. Due to their high vitality, physical and magical defense, earth elementals are able to act as spiritmasters’ personal tanks. Fire spirits are featured close-ranged, high burst damage with average stats and lower than average magical defense. As for Water spirits, they are mainly used for healing, with exceptional magical defense but lower than average stats. Wind spirits are primarily used for magical offense, at the same time can also be used for fast melee attackers as well. The stages of growth the four elementals go through is four. They grow larger and fiercer one they finish one stage. The spiritmasters potential strength is only measured by their abilities to take charge of these spirits and by the channels they use to make their summoned creatures more powerful and efficient. Spiritmastes are still allowed to use Spellbooks and orbs as their weapons, and wearing robes for their protection is also available.
